Here are some links related to my personal interests and hobbies:

I have always enjoyed all types of science/engineering, especially astronomy and electronics. For the last year I have also been trying to keep my body active via karate (Tae Kwon Do) lessons. As of 9/06, I am a Blue Belt, slowly working my way toward a black belt.

Astronomy sites of interest:

Electronics:

I've enjoyed electronics ever since I was a child. I particular enjoy radio. I've always found the idea of pulling tiny signals out of the air fascinating. Understanding how radios work really helps to do good scientific research as well, since signal-to-noise is at the heart of both of them. I hold an FCC amateur radio license, General Class, with the call sign KC9IVN (Kilo-Charlie-Nine-India-Victor-November). You can occasionally find me on the HF bands, where the challenge of long-distance ("DX") communication continues to intrigue me. Unfortunately, I have little time to dedicate to this.

The Radio Project: A few years ago I worked with school children at two different K-12 schools to build more than 100 functioning AM radios. Details on "The Radio Project" and some press coverage can be found here.
