Congratulations to our 2012 Graduates !

Three Ph.D. students, one M.S. student, and one B.S. student graduated from the Hamers group this spring.

Rose Ruther defended her Ph.D. thesis, "Molecular Intefaces to Electronic Materials" on June 14 and has accepted a postdoc position with the NSF-funded Center for Green Materials Chemistry that links groups at Oregon State University, the University of Oregon, and Rutgers University.

Xin Chen defended her Ph.D. thesis, "Chemistry at the Organosilicon-based Electrolyte/electrode Interface in Lithium-ion Batteries" on May 31 and has accepted a position with SABIC (Saudi Basic Inudstries Corporation)., a multinational corporation headquartered in Saudi Arabia

Kacie Louis defended her Ph.D. thesis, "Surface functionalization of TiO2 Nanoparticles: Photo-stability and Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) Generation" on June 19th. Kacie has accepted a position in the Akzo Nobel Corporation in Brewster, N.Y.

Courtney Stavis completed her M.S. thesis, doing reseach on the formation of ultra-stable protein-resistant diamond thin films.

Nigel Becknell graduated with his B.S. degree and will be going on to his Ph.D. studies at UC-Berkeley.
